Help me give my students charging stations and filament that can be used with the 3D pens never used and learn an advanced new art media/technology in their art club.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The art room has had 3D pens for years but I have not been able to use them in classes that are 37 students large.
Now with the National Junior Art Honor Society after-school advanced art program students can explore more advanced art media/technology such as 3D pens and learn how to draw in space with pens and filament.
When they tried them recently the filaments were too old and broke, which was frustrating for them.
This Donors Choose grant is for the filament for the 3D pens. 3D pens can be used for drawing in space and creating 3D projects that could only be seen in 2D before with pencils. 3D pens are a new and exciting technology/media for students to learn about and become skilled in drawing in 3D space with this new unexplored media. Students will use and benefit from 3D Pens with filament and charging stations for the pens by making eggs for the holidays and making 3D characters from the books the are writing and illustrating in class.
