My Students
My students tackle every project by throwing themselves into their work. It’s easy to be impressed by the great care and consideration they invest in their art. Some of my students start the year off having great confidence and familiarity with drawing, while other students have given up on making their own art by the time they reach middle school. My goal is to create an environment where both types of students can flourish.
My students are visual learners and they benefit greatly from seeing a technique or process worked out in front of them.
Students in my art class love to watch live video feed demonstrations of drawing techniques. In 2011 we started a successful Donors Choose campaign and replaced a 25” TV with a 46” TV. The new display has been great for many years and is an integral part of student instruction now. However, with the decrease in television prices and the increase in the number of students packed into my room a larger display would be incredibly beneficial!
My Project
A 75" 4K television would make a world of difference for all the students in my classroom, but especially those students that are sitting towards the back of the room. I already use my current display set-up often, but with the larger screen size, I know live demonstrations would become an even greater focus in my curriculum.
My students have such great potential that is matched by their desire to learn more every day about drawing and art.
By updating the old equipment in my classroom to provide the most dynamic and vivid demonstrations possible, I know that they will be inspired in their artistic pursuits.
