My students need an area to work in a small group. This table will allow my students to engage in hands-on learning by working directly on the table surface while showing their work and thinking processes.

My Students
My students are the best! They come from difficult home lives and look forward to being at school. They come to school every day excited and ready to learn and continuously put forth their best effort on a daily basis.
My students have a variety of learning styles and needs, and they benefit from working hands-on in small groups.
They love to learn and explore new topics and ideas. They enjoy doing projects and activities that require them to move around the room. My co-teacher and I use flexible seating, allowing our students opportunities to get up from their desks and work in areas around the classroom.
My students work hard every day, and constantly inspire me. They persevere through challenges and adversities whether they are academic or personal. They show kindness and respect toward one another. They deserve the best opportunities in their education, and I work hard every day to provide them with these opportunities.
My Project
Whiteboards have been a successful tool for teachers everywhere. Students enjoy having the ability to write and/or draw out their thinking, with the ability to erase and start over without the mess of pencil and eraser stains. Students get excited to work with an array of colorful markers and are eager to participate when using hands-on manipulatives. Having access to a dry erase table would give my students the opportunity to engage, hands-on, in the learning process while working in a small group and benefiting from direct instruction. This table will provide me, the teacher, the ability to closely monitor my students' work habits and thought processes while providing them with the instruction that appeals to different learning styles and needs.
