Help me give my students the paper needed to draw their art ideas.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Medrano's classroom raised $624
This project is fully funded
My Students
I teach in a low-income/high poverty school complex. My students are faced with constant challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking forward to keeping things engaging and provide them with meaningful learning experiences.
My middle school students struggle to find their place in the world.
All of them receive a free lunch based on the socioeconomic status of our school. These things may prevent them from getting ahead early in life and may not provide them with the life experiences many of us see as "typical."
If the opportunity to share the outside world is available to my students, I will help them see their options and see the world inside and outside of the community.
My Project
My sixth grade students will have an introduction to arts and crafts class. This year I am teaching them many elements of art, but there is no art paper in my room! I have copy paper, but to truly experience art, they need to try a variety of paper for different media.
If funded we can paint on watercolor paper, draw with pastels and print on media paper.
The projects will make students proud and confident in their expressiveness.
Students make mistakes but they should be free to express their art work in a format that shows their best efforts.
More than half of students from low‑income households
