Dramatic Play

My Students

For over 75 years my school, a public school, has served low income children with multiple disabilities from all over Baltimore city. Through the years, our school has seen significant changes in its population. The children have become increasingly more dependent on medical technology and are more medically fragile and economically deprived.

Many of the students come to my classroom with profound physical and mental disabilities.

The children are enrolled as young as three and our older students "age-out" or graduate at age twenty-one.

I have been given the wonderful opportunity to teach students in the Early Learning Together Program. In the fall children who are three years old from all over the city with a wide variety of needs will come to my classroom and begin their academic journey. The emotional, social and physical development of young children has a direct effect on their overall development and on the adult they will become. That is why understanding the need to invest in very young children is so important, so as to maximize their future well-being. Please invest in my students, help provide with what they will need to have an amazing first year in school.

My Project

My students need costumes for dramatic play for their first experience in school. The dramatic play center is a place for my children to come together and learn in a safe way. A variety of options will help my students begin their educational journey with confidence and comfort. Pretend play is a key part of children's development. The dramatic play center will fit our early learning classroom theme of nature, with minimalist intentions. I hope to build a space for my little ones that will help them grow and build a love of learning. Please help me give the this wonderful gift to my little ones.
