Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The children in my classroom have a strong desire to explore and discover. Their natural curiosity affords them ample opportunities to interact, question, connect, problem-solve, communicate, extend their learning with the right materials, and pretend play is a must in every Pre-K classroom. My student population consists of inner-city children mainly coming from low-income families. I would love to give my students a Pretend Play Combo Kitchen play area where they feel that they can explore, talk to eaxh other about different cultures, math and adifferent traditions in our community.
Please help me give my students the heavy-duty all-in-one kitchen for our dramatic play area.
As a teacher in an urban district, I work with ages ranging from three, four, and five-year-old students ranging in different levels of development, and pretend play is much needed at this age.
