This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach both preschool and high school students... and I love it! I guess you can say I get the best of both worlds. In the morning we have 3 and 4 year old students that come to our high school to be part of a preschool learning environment. My high school students are considered student teachers. They are interested in pursuing careers working with children after graduation. They work with the 3 and 4 year old students in the morning during our lab. The materials that we are requesting would be used on a daily basis. The wooden high chair, wooden shopping cart and dress up center would be used in our dramatic play center.

In our preschool program, our students learn through play.

Play is how children learn naturally. That’s what makes it so powerful, and why it’s so important to make room for play. The items that we are requesting will make this possible.
