Dramatic Play Materials to Help Learn About Our World
My students need dramatic play props such as a small couch and chair you would use at home, pretend food, and cash registers to help them learn about buying and selling.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Cooke's classroom raised $620

My Students
My student's favorite area of the classroom is Dramatic Play! From Dunkin' Donuts to the Veterinarian's Office, they love it all! We need some basic materials to make this area great! My student's are mostly second language learners, so playing in a language rich area is so important!
My student's come from a high poverty area.
Many of the children do not have their needs met at home. Some live in homeless shelters, with relatives, or public housing. Most student's are second language learners. They love coming to school to learn and play with others.
My Project
The materials I requested will be for the dramatic play area. They will be able to sit on a chair to read a book or take care of their babies. They can use the food to cook for their family and have a meal together. The cash registers can be used as they pretend to go to the grocery store, a restaurant, etc.
The children love this area and spend a good portion of their play time here.
Freshening up this area will make it more inviting and exciting to my preschoolers. It will give them an opportunity to expand their pretend play and add a new dimension. It will increase their language development, social skills, and conflict resolution skills.
