This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Hands-on experiences are very important at an early age. I want to provide the opportunity for my students to have a balance of play and academics.

I have found that dramatic play is a very important part of kindergarten.

It allows students to learn to collaborate, build their imagination, and learn to problem solve through social experiences. These materials are specifically for a grocery and kitchen station in our classroom. Our typical day ends with "choice time" which is a time for students to interact with their peers and be kids. During choice time, students engage in different dramatic play stations (kitchen, dollhouse, building, make believe play). They make the choice of where to go and it’s a great way to end out school day.

After spending so much time apart and virtual, it is time for students to get back to laughing and playing together in our classroom.
