My Students
As a teacher in a special education self-contained classroom in a low-income school district, my students are faced with challenges inside and outside of the classroom. Despite the many challenges that my students are facing, I am looking to provide them with a fun, interactive, and meaningful learning environment.
My students have a multitude of needs including physical, cognitive, medical, fine motor, sensory, and communication.
They love learning through a multitude of different means such as sensory activities. They learn best though creative and sensory activities.
My Project
My classroom has started going to a nature feel for the students to learn through natural play. The classroom has started to use nature as a way for the students to learn. This outdoor kitchen area will allow the students the opportunity to have a dramatic play that will allow the students to play while, at the same time, fitting with the theme.
My class will use the Pump Play Mud Kitchen on a daily basis.
I have a self-contained special education classroom, and the materials that we use have to be hardy.
