This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a school-based occupational therapist, I work with students across all grade levels including preschool-5th grade. Many of the students who I work with have difficulties with various motor skills and sensory processing skills.

My pre-k students would benefit from having access to a sensory chair, bean bag, and sensory lamp along with some dramatic play items including a tent, crib set, and lawn mower.

These items will help my students promote gross motor, fine motor, and foster imaginary play while meeting their sensory needs. Dramatic play will also help my students learn to express themselves and build crucial social skills including cooperation, sharing, and problem-solving.
