Drama Production

My students need props in order to perform the play "Little Red Riding Hood." We need costume supplies like wolf ears and a red cape, face paint, and tempera paint for sets.

My Students

"If you hear a voice within you say 'you cannot paint,' then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced." -Vincent Van Gogh. I want my students to break from their shells and learn confidence in themselves. They are energetic and dedicated to putting on a great drama performance.

Our school wants to enrich students' lives through art and performance.

They are a high school drama class of six students. These creative and determined students want to inspire the elementary department by bringing enthusiasm and joy through drama. We are limited on funds, but we have an exorbitant amount of spirit and pride in our school that we want to share with the younger students. My students have never had this opportunity before and are very eager to meet the challenge. My students have been diligently practicing memorizing their lines and preparing their animated movements on stage. They are a goofy group, but wonderful kids. They support one another and have done an excellent job coming out of their shells to express themselves. It would be a wonderful gift for them to share their dedication and practice by being able to put on a full drama production.

My Project

We are working toward building a set and using the props provided to recreate the play "Little Red Riding Hood." We have been practicing our lines, place sets, animated movements, and being in character. We are currently learning how to write proper scripts and how to act in front of others. This builds self-confidence and achievement in being able to bring entertainment to younger students. They are learning how to engage in drama and memorize lines, as well as learn that nothing needs to be perfect as long as the audience is enjoying the show. We need costume supplies such as a red riding hood cape, wolf ears and tail, bunny ears and tail, butterfly wings and antenna, and deer antlers and a bowler hat. We need props such as plastic wood ax, mustache, plastic flowers, grandma moo moo dress, plastic fangs, black gloves, skunk tail and ears and so forth. We need tempera paint to create backdrops for the set. We need face paint to paint our faces for the animal make-up.

These donations will allow us to create a performance that my students can take pride in.

This will be an experience they can look back on and remember for the rest of their lives. They can say they tried something new and different and learned that taking chances can lead to incredible results. They want this performance to look crisp and sharp so the students can see the effort and time that was placed in it. They want to change younger students' lives by giving them laughter and joy.
