Dr. Seuss Is On The Loose!

My students need 19 "Green Eggs and Ham" books on CD and 19 "My Book About Me" autobiography books by Dr. Seuss.

Dr. Seuss is on the loose! My Kindergarten students are developing a love for reading in my classroom as a result of my reading Dr. Seuss books aloud to them. Many of the students have not been exposed to reading in their homes nor do they have books in the home. They are so excited by the lovely language and the beauty of books.

I teach in a State qualified Title 1 school based on our free and reduced lunch population and our demographics. Our funds are limited and our parents are unable to supply many of the basics . My students have enjoyed the Dr. Seuss books that I read aloud and the rhythmic language and rhyming are wonderful readiness skills that get them excited about books.

I need 19 copies of "Green Eggs and Ham" as well as 19 copies of Dr. Seuss' Autobiography book to present to each student at a "read-a-thon" birthday celebration we are planning to celebrate Dr. Seuss birthday on March 2.

You will make it possible for our Kindergarten class to have a wonderful celebration and read-a-thon in honor of Dr. Seuss and his wonderful contributions to children's literature. Your help will ensure that each child will have two beautiful books to read and take home. You will help instill a lifelong love of reading that will motivate these precious little children for a lifetime. Thank you for your generosity!
