This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach at a Title I elementary school in Arizona. Our students come from diverse economic and ethnic backgrounds. Over seventy percent of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch daily.
My school's mission focuses on academic, fitness, and personal achievements for both students and staff.
We believe all students can be successful and we try to give them every tool they need to reach their goals. Our staff teaches after school clubs throughout the year that range from art and dance to technology and math. We spend time in our classrooms, on announcements, and at assemblies celebrating the fitness and academic successes of our students and staff.
My Project
When the pandemic began last year, many teachers were not prepared for an online teaching environment. Many of us have been making due with our older technology that we have in our homes.
A Dell monitor will help support both online and in-person students.
A second monitor will allow me to have our virtual meeting on one screen and continue work on the other screen. It will allow me the opportunity to share the content and instruction with students while letting me see everyone that is participating in our Meet.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
