This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My first-grade students are awesome! They are kind and help inspire each other. Each of the students in my class is unique. Some children benefit from using a timer at their desk to keep them focused. All of my students will benefit from a classroom doorbell to gain their attention.
One of our first grade traditions is a Gingerbread Unit in December.
We read several versions of the story, write about it, and create a bulletin board. We also make our own cookies! The gingerbread decorations and lights will make this board look amazing. The students also work well with subtle classroom lights. The jelly boards serve two purposes. They are helpful in our calming corner when students are upset. They also are fantastic for my students to practice their letters and sounds in a multisensory way! These items will not be available without your support.
