My Students
My students are state identified gifted and talented in a Title 1 school, where a majority of our student population receives free or reduced lunch. My students range in grades from 3rd grade to 5th grade. They come from a variety of backgrounds including African American, Hispanic, and Asian cultures. A few of my students were actually born in another country including one who is new to America just this year!
My students love a challenge and seek every opportunity provided to learn, explore, and discover!
They do not have all the opportunities to learn outside of the classroom and rely on the classroom to provide those opportunities to them.
My Project
My classroom is full of creativity. My gifted and talented students love to create and try out new things. Many of them have ideas and creations trapped in their heads and they want to express those ideas on paper. Their notebooks are filled with designs to help explain concepts or solve problems.
Using the 3D Doodlers, my students will be able to take the images and designs created in their minds and have a tangible representation to hold.
Using the 3D Doodler, students will be able to see their designs from all angles and be able to improve upon their creation.
My students would love to use the 3D Doodlers to help create roller coasters in our physics unit, zip lines in our fairy tale unit, and pirate ships in our pirate unit. These 3D Doodlers can be used in many of our creative and critical thinking units for my students to think outside of the traditional paper and pencil tasks.
