Don't Tell Them Playing Monopoly Is Financial Algebra in Disguise

Help me give my students Monopoly board game sets to use in our Financial Algebra class. Playing will be fun and rewarding for them, while also giving them an opportunity to demonstrate what they've learned in our class.

My Project

In a class where students learn about everything from opening a bank account, calculating their paycheck, and paying their bills all the way to buying a car, renting an apartment, and doing their taxes I want to give them a chance to put it all to use. While at they same time letting them have a little fun.

As a reward for students when we are able to stay ahead of the pace needed to cover all of our material, we will play Monopoly once or twice per month.

Students will be required to track their gameplay while identifying anything they use which they've learned in class.

I have 3 Financial Algebra classes, 2 of which are at capacity with 36 students. Students sit together in groups of 4 desks which will lend itself well to a maximum of 9 concurrent games.

I have requested 10 sets with replacement houses/hotels, replacement dice, and spare money to replace things as they go missing or get damaged. This is one way to gamify learning.
