Don't Stop, The Music!

Help me give my students drumsticks and rechargeable batteries so that our music-making doesn't have to stop due to broken sticks or dead batteries!

My Project

In our music classroom, we are always making music! During the year, every student in the school comes to music class for a 45-day rotation. We learn instruments like guitar, keyboard, drum set, and ukulele. The students especially love it when we start playing as a modern band, meaning students in the class divide up and play drums, keyboards, voice, and ukuleles to create a cover band. We end each rotation with a presentation for our families, where students perform the music we've been working on throughout our rotation.

Our whole school uses the music room, and as a result, some of our supplies are in bad condition; our drumsticks are giving splinters, and our amps are out of batteries!

We need new drumsticks to make it to the end of the year without injuries, and so that students won't get frustrated with the worn-out sticks! The new stricks will be used daily for the rest of the year, and will especially help our modern band and informance practices to be successful.

In addition, we need rechargeable batteries and a place to charge them. These will be used so that we always have batteries available for our small practice amps, which students use with our electric ukuleles and guitars to practice independently. I know that these materials will be used as soon as they are out of the box, and will help our music class be successful each day!
