My Students
My First grade students are typical 6 and 7 year olds. They have a lot of energy and love to learn. They are curious and eager to learn. As growing scholars they are always asking questions, becoming problem solvers, and are navigating technology.
Having the appropriate tools to be successful as independent learners is a necessity.
My students love to be mobile and not sit at their desk all day. They need the right tools to be able to complete their work without being stuck at a desk.
Our classroom and school is set in a suburb of a major city and has a diverse population culturally and economically. My students come from all different backgrounds which makes our classroom/ school unique and special.
My Project
Students have busy schedules with a lot of different types of learning. Sometimes students are sitting in a whole group on the carpet, and sometimes they can be off in a corner reading a book. Working with partners or playing a math game in a group can take place anywhere in the classroom.
While students are using their Chromebooks they like to sit on the floor and need portable desks to be able to concentrate on the task at hand.
Student using headphones cuts down distractions for other groups around the class.
During math workshop, students are often busy playing math games where dry erase pockets allow for easy write on/ wipe off answer sheets - this saves a whole lot of paper!
