Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are 21st Century learners who are eager to use all of the technology available to them! I teach 29 curious, fourth grade scientists in a small, Title I school that has an amazing and supportive principal.
My students are eager to learn, and their brains are sponges that absorb any and all information given to them.
Everything is a potential investigation or experiment to them, so I strive to provide my students with as many learning and project-based opportunities as possible. I constantly enhance the school curriculum and students' intrinsic motivation to learn more by infusing STEM correlations whenever possible.
Because of our small school size, funding levels are not as high as other schools in our area. Grants and projects like this one become an integral part of how I obtain resources to supplement learning experiences. I truly believe that the future lies in our children, that they have virtually unlimited potential, and my job is to enable them to reach it.
My Project
Students need to access the curriculum in a variety of ways which includes exciting visual presentations. New learning standards emphasize the use of technology that my classroom does not currently have. The projector and document reader requested will open up a whole new world of learning in my room and will help my students better access the curriculum. They will use these resources to display work when making oral presentations or sharing learning strategies.
This projector and document reader will make a difference because it will reach all types of learners.
Once the projector is in place, students will have access to the great technology components that accompany our reading and math programs, as well as the other content areas of social studies and science.
