Energetic, curious, ready to learn, creative and fun are just a few words I can use to describe my kindergarten class! My students represent a diverse group of learners who come into school everyday ready to learn.
Learning is contagious, which makes kindergarten the place to be!
For some of my students, kindergarten is their first time being in school and having the structure of the academic day. It's a place to be yourself, experience new things, encourage one another and a place to make new friends. Students come in strangers and leave as a family.
My Project
The rug in my kindergarten classroom is the spot where most of our learning takes place. It's where we have our daily morning meetings and our Positive Action lessons to learn about how to "make good choices" and to be kind to one another. On the carpet we listen to stories, share ideas, and make new friends. The rug is also our spot to listen to our favorite songs and show off our new dance moves!
The rug is in the center of the classroom and is the gathering place for everyone to be engaged in learning all at the same time!
The majority of my activities and lessons start on the carpet. They range from reading books, to writing letters, counting numbers, and sharing with friends. Help me get a new classroom rug so the learning and fun can begin this new school year!
