Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My band students are divided into two beginning groups comprised entirely of sixth graders: an advanced concert band and a jazz band.
My band students take music as an outlet from their everyday lives in which they can express themselves, enjoying the process of music-making and performing.
The music program is in need of some essential equipment, and as their band director, it is my goal to provide the best conditions to thrive.
My band students are learning how to read music, how to play in an ensemble setting, and get opportunities to perform in public.
My Project
Our music program at RMS is in dire need of an electric bass and a bass amplifier. The program has various ensembles including concert band, jazz band, and two beginning bands, all of which have students who play bass.
By donating to our project, you will help provide these students with the instrument and equipment they need to perform with the bands.
Although we used to have one, it was very old and with the wear and tear of the past few years and all the performances, the internal cabling simply broke beyond fixing. Thanks for your help!
