Adolescence is a transformative period for young women, marked by the onset of menstruation. However, the rising cost of feminine hygiene products creates a significant barrier for many students, leading to period poverty and its associated negative impacts. This project directly addresses this critical need by ensuring readily available access to essential feminine hygiene products, including pads, tampons, and panty liners, within our Wellness Center.
Period poverty, the lack of access to menstrual products, can lead to missed school days, decreased academic performance, and heightened anxiety.
By providing these products free of charge, we aim to alleviate the stress and uncertainty associated with obtaining necessary supplies. This initiative will not only promote students' physical well-being but also foster a more equitable and supportive learning environment, empowering young women to fully engage in their education without the fear of period-related disruptions.
