My Students
Don't agonize...organize! - Our learning can be fluid and ongoing with the help of a well organized room!
I teach middle school students with severe disabilities in Brooklyn, New York.
My students participate in a self-contained program in a 12:1:1 population. In order to succeed in the classroom my students benefit from a highly organized, predictable and easily accessible environment.
My Project
Many of their Individualized Education Plan goals relate to supporting their abilities to interact within their environments with a maximum level of independence. In alignment to the principals of Universal Design for Learning, all of my students are provided universal access points to curriculum and related materials. A huge piece of this is establishing and maintaining a clean, clear, highly organized, and predicable classroom environment.
The individual timers are to help students stay on task for an allotted period of time. The color coded folder holders will assist the students in knowing were to deliver and pick up their homework. The color coded boxes, cabinet, timers and pocket charts give students a clear and organized way to complete tasks in the classroom.
Please help me create an inspired classroom environment to address the organizational needs of my students.
We need these items so that my students can navigate their environments independently. Be a part of creating this environment for my students success.
