Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
At my school, seniors are required to have a 8-week long Senior Project in order to graduate. Students are pushed to develop a project that they are passionate about and one that can leave a lasting and positive impact on our school community. One project is to create and design a safe place on campus for LGBTQ+ students.
This project is to create a space that allows LGBTQ+ students to connect with one another, have access to community resources, and create a library with a variety of LGBTQ+ fiction and nonfiction books to read.
The selected books will allow all students to learn either from LGBTQ+ authors or from LGBTQ+ stories to create a sense of belonging and acceptance. This project would help leave a lasting legacy by providing the books needed for a LGBTQ+ library.
