My Project
My name is Christina, and I am a first-year Comprehensive School Psychologist. While our students are bright, wonderful, eager-to-learn students, we are underserved, under-resourced, and in need of rich, high-quality learning materials. I have the privilege of working one-on-one and in small groups with students who may need additional academic or social-emotional support. Our community is impacted by high levels of trauma, which can make learning really inaccessible. By providing students with opportunities to feel safe, to feel a sense of belonging, and to teach specific emotional regulation, executive functioning, and social skills, our students will thrive in school.
We know that feeling safe and a sense of belonging is the neurobiological on-ramp to learning, and access to social-emotional learning materials is the foundation to doing so.
Tools like CBT workbooks, flexible seating, kids' books about anxiety, trauma, and mental health, as well as tangible tools to help students regulate, make all the difference in their learning.
