Who doesn't love watching a dolphin leap out of the ocean for joy? My 4th graders are currently learning how mother dolphins communicate to their calfs. So far we have learned that sound energy moves through waves. Students were able to see that magic little light move through a metal slinky when they stretch it out and push it back and forth.
Learning science concepts through the joy of an old fashion toy, creates waves of magic.
Help me send my students home for the summer with a metal slinky toy that will stimulate more scientific curiosity. My hope is that students will begin to think about science as much as they think about reading, writing, or the newest video game.
