Pre-K students are bright, curious, and eager to learn. They love to play and explore the world around them. Creating a safe, inclusive classroom where every child feels valued and respected is a priority. The Pre-K classroom is a mix of children, each with unique backgrounds.
Pre-K students need multicultural dolls to help them learn about diversity, build self-esteem, and develop empathy.
This proposal is for a set of diverse, school-quality multicultural dolls (with varying skin tones, hair textures, and facial features). The dolls available in our classroom do not reflect this diversity. When children see dolls that look like them, they feel valued and included. When they see dolls that look different from them, they begin to understand that diversity is something to celebrate! In addition, we would like a few new books that also celebrate diversity and inclusion.
Donating to this project will make a direct impact on the lives of my Pre-K students. These dolls and new books will be a great tool for introducing diversity and kindness. They will help them learn build self-esteem and become more compassionate individuals. Moreover, they will help build the foundation for a kinder and more accepting classroom community!
