Doing Our Bit with a Micro:bit!

My Students

We are a neighborhood school serving the community since 1927. In addition to general education students, our students represent twenty-three language groups, many of them English language learners and students with special needs. Our mission is to develop joyful learners by providing them with support, encouragement, and a variety of opportunities to grow.

Our students are enthusiastic learners who thrive on creativity and being challenged!

They are motivated by high-interest level curriculum and hands-on learning opportunities. They also love being able to explore, create new things, and are highly motivated by student-centered learning. We are always looking for ways to provide them with tools that will help them maximize their potential.

My Project

Part of our 4th & 5th grade computer science curriculum this year incorporates the resources from the United Nation's Global Goals for Sustainable Development website. Students learned about the 17 Global Goals and how they play an important role in creating a better future for all.

Do Your :Bit is a global micro:bit challenge for 8 - 18 year olds that test students' imagination and combines creativity and technology to come up with solutions for the Global Goals by tackling the issues being facing today.

Students will incorporate the micro:bit to come up with innovations that make the world a better place. Our students would like a micro:bit V2 to use at school and at home to participate in this challenge!
