Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The kiddos are amazing kids with great hearts. They work hard, and they are super eager to learn. Unfortunately, they live in the most dangerous neighborhoods in town, but that doesn't stop them from learning.

My sixth graders come from low-income households, but that doesn't define them.

They are first-generation students who mainly speak Spanish. The majority of them live in multi-family homes, sharing rooms with multiple siblings. Most of them have a hard time finding a quiet place to participate in online classes. Regardless of their situation, they believe that education is of great value.

My Project

For this project, I am requesting Dog Man Books, Dog Man pens, and a plush Dog Man. I would like to give each of my students a pen and a book! The plush would stay in our class library.

Encouraging their love for reading!

My students love these books. They are English language learners who are developing their love of reading. They love reading these books no matter what their reading level is. Some read these for fun even though they can't test on them. The fun illustrations in these books and engaging plot make it a popular series among early readers who are just starting to pick up chapter books.
