My students need a Lego Mindstorm EV3 set for our school's family fun night.

My Students
My students are full of energy, excited to learn, and naturally inquisitive. They want to be engaged in the lessons, instead of being passive learners. The days of sitting at a desk listening to a lecture are in the past! Students need to know why it is important for them to learn the material taught, and when they will use it in real life.
With STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math), Problem-Based Learning (PBL), and Computer Science students are engaged, and solving both real-life and fictional problems.
My school has over 900 diverse students coming from different socioeconomic statuses in the largest school district in South Carolina. Our students are the engineers, scientists, health care workers, problem solvers, and innovators of our future. They are eager to learn, invent, design, problem solve, and eager to change the world!
My Project
One thousand hours. This is the number of instructional hours students have during one school year. Unfortunately, many parents work long hours, and the number of hours our students spend at home continues to decrease.
My idea is to host an after school dodgeball tournament for a family fun night.
We will have a selfie photobooth for families to enjoy, team costume contest, faculty halftime event, and all of our related arts classes and after school clubs (Youth in Government, International Club, Robotics Club, etc) will be have a display showcasing opportunities for our students and parents. The admission cost for the students and parents to this event: Show at least one week of a completed assignment agenda signed by the parents. Our school has the students write all assignments into the agenda, but these assignments can also be viewed on the teachers' website. By providing a family fun night, we hope to build parent relationships between school and home.
The EV3 Lego robot kit is needed for students and parents to build and code at the robotics club display. This will allow more people to enjoy the interactive display.
More than half of students from low‑income households
