My Students
The three schools where I teach are very diverse with students from all over the world. My students enjoy reading, project-based learning activities, robotics and being creative. I have the unique opportunity to teach Horizons, a gifted class, for 3 different schools. My students shine when I bring Legos or electronic kits into a lesson about animals or problem solving skills. With our students' economic backgrounds, they don't get many opportunities at home to interact with materials to encourage creative thinking.
My Project
3Doodler Pens are a revolutionary tool for educators to use in the classroom. Students can use these safe and easy to use 3D printer pens to use their creativity and imagination during assignments. The 3Doodler description says, "Enable students to learn and explore the principles of art and design, science, math, engineering, spatial awareness, and tactile skills in a fun and engaging way."
I plan to use these pens in a makerspace that I have set up in my classroom.
I would love my students to experience creating art and designs with the 3Doodler. A exciting possibility is to give students 30 minutes to create a design that related to the content that we are studying. After creating the design students would have to write a description of their creation. These creations would be displayed for other students to see.
We also use Legos to build creations related to the content that we are studying. After creating a Lego build I would have students add to the build with the 3Doodler.
The possibilities are endless with an exciting tool like the 3Doodler Pen.
