This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have an amazing, enthusiastic group of 4-5 year olds with very supportive parents. During the school closures, many of my parents tried to have some normalcy by participating with our Zoom meetings and doing activities from platforms such as Class Dojo and See Saw. With the new school year approaching, it is most likely distance learning will continue. I would like to have this resource to provide better distance learning.

My Project

I am teaching from home using a laptop. I am using online worksheets and maipulatives. I plan to provide live zoom and video lessons daily and it is challenging to provide those lessons with just using the camera from my laptop.

Having a document camera will allow me to teach more effectively.

I've used my DIY method using my selfie stick with my phone in bowl filled with beans. It does get the job done but it has been challenging since it is not sturdy.

The document camera will also help with my read aloud as my students will be able to see the illustrations much more clearly.
