This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"A picture speaks a thousand words." In this technological and fast paced world, a picture can really speak a lot.

My students are mostly eleventh graders attending a title one school where sometimes, technology is not something that is available to each family.

Though they are not privileged with high tech gadgets, many of them try very hard to achieve their goals of going to college. My school has 2000 9-12 graders and I teach about 150 of them each day. Quite a bit of them are highly motivated, independent learners.

My Project

With this camera and supplies, my students will be able to work on multimedia projects, like making videos and conducting interviews for research papers. Photography will be used as an alternative way to express themselves besides writing essays. As an addition, my journalism students can also use it to take photos to document the school year for the yearbook and newspaper class.

This donation will make a difference for my students because they will learn to use the DSLR camera to perform different tasks and expand their creativity as multimedia students.

Exploration of new technologies is a wonderful way to motivate students and help them succeed.
