My students need a document camera and a classroom printer for interactive notebooks, multimedia presentations, and general classroom learning activities.
Remove barriers to learning! I hope to create a classroom environment where students are given endless opportunities to learn and grow. Technology is an essential tool in this endeavor!
I teach 6th grade in an urban charter school.
My students come from all areas of the city. They are a very diverse population of students in terms of both socioeconomic background and learning styles/abilities. My school has come a long way in the 10 years we have been in operation, but the ever-tightening budget makes it difficult stay current with trends in technology.
My Project
This year, I am creating interactive notebooks with my students in my math classes. Using the document camera, I will be able to model note taking for my students, and I will have a finished product to keep in the room as a reference for any student who missed all or part of the class. I will also be using the camera to record lessons to post for later viewing and to record student multimedia presentations. The printer will allow my students to print documents, such as research materials and final drafts of papers.
Technology in the classroom is crucial to the success of today's students.
In my opinion, the resources I am requesting are as important as textbooks in a modern classroom. The document camera simply replaces the outdated overhead projector, and a classroom printer allows my students to complete and submit high-quality assignments that meet the high standards I set for them.
