This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are part of a fantastic school. They come from various cultural backgrounds and languages, creating a truly unique and diverse classroom. Many of them lack access to technology in the home which motivates us to provide these tools for our students even more. They are funny, dedicated, brilliant, kind, inquiring minds who rise to any academic challenge presented to them.

Our school is a family of teachers, supporting staff, and learners that truly care about one another and work together to deliver the best for each and every one of our students.

These students are members of a Title I urban school in Richmond, CA, a school where all students qualify for the free breakfast and free lunch program.

My Project

The world must go on, and we must adapt. I must teach my first graders in a distance learning mode. While the delivery of instruction is not the same, the technology needed is just not there. Schools are closed and document cameras are locked in rooms. I have turned a little space of my house into a little teaching corner, and I am using everything I have to provide the distance learning experience. We must adapt. I just don't have enough for a document camera.

I ask for a document camera that will help me provide a live stream, record lessons, and activities for my students for distance learning.

I want my students to be engaged in the distance learning environment while providing the same opportunity for all of them to have access to the same experience even when it is difficult for them to join during live sessions.
