Imagine 31 first graders coming into class each morning eager to see what challenges the day will bring.
They are not afraid to explore new concepts and discover new ways of learning. Each child has a special job in the classroom, whether it is turning off the lights or feeding the fish, everyone is important. In our classroom we believe that a smile and a good attitude can help us overcome any obstacle that may get in our way. The first graders work hard each day to master the first grade curriculum and learn the importance of teamwork and collaboration. It's easy to get inspired when you see these tiny people working together side by side to solve the daily math problem or clarify a tricky word. Their perseverance makes them strong minded and determined. As their teacher I can say that I am truly proud of each and every one of them. Their dedication to learning is incredible and will take them far in their journey through life.
My Project
My students need a document camera, height adjuster and magnifying lens for the document camera. A document camera in the classroom will not only allow the students to see the text in high resolution, but also allow me to provide better instruction. As I am instructing I will be able to model how to appropriately analyze text, clarify words, and identify important literary elements in the same text my students are reading. They will be able to see exactly what methods to use and when they are working have something to reference to on a big screen. Having a document camera will enhance their learning experience greatly, and also guide their instruction to much a deeper level.
A document camera will allow me to give instruction using the materials they will be using, creating a better understanding of the concept being taught and allow for all students to see exactly what I am doing on the big screen.
This in turn helps students who may have trouble with their vision. Instruction will be made more accessible to all students with the use of the document camera. Also, students will be able to share their work with the class. A document camera will help students shine!
