Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are curious about the world around them and eager to learn. They have spunky personalities and are bursting with energy.
Many of them are being raised in single parent households, are English language learners, and receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status.
However, these obstacles will not hold my students back from all they want to accomplish and learn during the school year. From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom, they are focused on reaching their academic goals.
My Project
For many of my students, the neighborhood options for middle school will not challenge them enough. My students are preparing for the SSAT exam to apply to independent middle schools that will challenge them to be their best. The exam is part of the application process.
These independent middle schools are great opportunities for students like mine who have the academics to go on full scholarships.
An education at these independent schools can be life-changing! This is why it's important to do their best on the SSAT exam. You can help by providing the practice tests for my students to fully prepare for the exam.
