My Students
What is that? I can't see! These are the cries that I sometimes hear from students when I am modeling experiments during our science lab. A document camera would benefit my students by enhancing their educational experiences, so that everyone can see!
I work with an amazing group of kindergarten through eighth grade students who enjoy science very much.
They are excited as they learn about and explore the world around them. They are curious and full of questions each week. Their eager attitudes for scientific knowledge keeps me inspired as I strive to provide meaningful learning experiences for them.
My Project
When we are in the lab, I often demonstrate procedures for the students to follow. Yet, it is difficult to find a location in my classroom to conduct demonstrations so that all the students can see the proper procedures. However, there is a solution! If my classroom was equipped with a document camera, all the students would be able to watch the demonstration of lab procedures in the front of the classroom. By attaching the document camera to an LCD projector that is available in my classroom, I will be able to project images onto a screen that is visible to all the lab tables in my classroom. Through using a document camera in the classroom, students will be empowered because it allows them the opportunity to present and share their work with their classmates to create a community of scientists.
