My Students

I am privileged to work with a diverse community of students. In our fifth grade class, we have students from six different countries, who also come from diverse economic and linguistic backgrounds.

My students are amazing humans, and I am blessed to be part of their lives for a small piece of time.

They are inquisitive, thoughtful, and in great need of gaining the skills necessary to be successful in our diverse and changing world. I see it as a challenge to prepare my kids for jobs that do not yet exist.

My Project

In the upcoming school year, students in fifth grade will have their own individual device to use while at home and at school. While this is an amazing opportunity, it comes with it some challenges.

Headphones, storage, and wired mouses will help students be able to use their new technology in a way that is helpful and productive.

Additionally, students who need special accommodations (such as having texts read aloud to them) will not have to be embarrassed when hitting the "play" button when others around them do not need it. It will help level the playing field for students who struggle with reading.
