I have a diverse group of students. Their ability levels range in ability from students who struggle in school due to learning disabilities to gifted. One common characteristic among all students is their enthusiasm for learning.
I work diligently to plan exemplary literacy lessons and activities that challenge the students, but also allow them to use their unique talents and abilities to showcase or demonstrate their depth of knowledge.
I want to motivate and inspire my students to become lifelong learners.
My Project
I am requesting books to use during guided reading instruction. I have selected books that students would find interesting and can be used as a mentor text for writing and language. I am also requesting hands on learning activities that will motivate students to want to learn and become active participants in their learning.
The students are not motivated to read old, beat up books that are missing pages.
The students would have the opportunity to self-select books. The titles requested would be used during classroom instruction, literature circles, and to complete independent reading projects. The games and activities will be used in learning centers to ensure students master grade level standards and skills.
