When we plan lessons, teachers have a checklist: Rigorous - check. Engaging - check. Meets the standards - check. But, what about fun?

In education, it often feels that fun is considered a four-letter word.

It usually doesn't get mentioned in lesson planning, and as a result, it often doesn't happen. But when we neglect the fun factor, even the best planned lesson, even it goes smoothly, gets soon forgotten by students. Thanks to the Fiesta Bowl Wishes for Teachers charity, I have been given a golden opportunity to bring in the fun factor - big time! I will be able to buy accessories for our class set of Microbits that will allow us to greatly expand the opportunities for designing and building amazing STEM projects.
