This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Learning to read with technology is so much fun. Reading and Art goes hand in hand.
I am a bilingual teacher to 22 kindergarten students.
I work at a school where most of our students qualify for free or reduced lunch. They are very eager learners and love to read in both their native language and in English. Most of my students like to communicate through art, especially when we are learning in our ESL block.
My Project
My goal is download digital stories on the ipod nanos and download my books on CD and add a play list to my itunes account. My students will be able to listen to the stories during our literacy center time. I plan on using the ipad as a digital canvas for the students to illustrate what they retained from the stories they have read/listened to on the ipod nanos. My hope is to build my students comprehension in both their native language and in English and their native language. I am also excited to publish their art stories into ibook for them to go and read anytime they like.
You can make a difference in my students lives.
You can bring 21st learning into our classroom and bring digital canvases for them to tell their story on. My students will love to have such an amazing learning tool in our classroom.
