My Students

Despite our school being in a low income neighborhood, education and parent participation is still a priority.

Parents and community work hand in hand with the administration, educators, and staff at our school with one goal in mind, equipping the future.

Students come to school excited to learn and look forward to acquire the skills and education to reach their future goals. As educators we are constantly looking for novel ways to challenge and encourage our students to work to their potential and strive to go beyond.

My Project

Last year our school started an after school programming/coding club centered around the Lego Mindstorm EV3 robot. One of our parents graciously donated an EV3 set to get this club started. We are hoping to receive another set so more students can participate.

Watching our students, self-initiate problem solving techniques, working together as a team, and coding allows us to witness how special materials like the Lego EV3 can lead and guide our students to their future goals and careers.

This past month our Lego School Team competed against other teams across the Los Angeles area and our students put enough time during and after school to advance to the semifinals. Next year our students are hungry for a championship.

As an educator I love to see the passion and encouraged when students are exposed to projects and materials that will encourage communication, teamwork, imagination, focus, and their goals lead to future careers.
