My Project
With these supplies, my art students will make their own DIY "sketchbook," called a smashbook. This project encourages creativity by allowing students to personalize their sketchbooks, choosing how to arrange and combine their worksheets, sketches, and finished artworks. By taking control of their own smashbooks, students can express their unique artistic style and ideas, fostering a sense of ownership over their work.
As they integrate various elements into their smashbooks, students will explore different artistic techniques and themes, enhancing their creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
This hands-on approach not only helps them document their artistic journey but also inspires them to experiment, reflect, and grow as artists. Ultimately, creating a smashbook empowers students to take charge of their learning experience and develop a deeper appreciation for their art.
