My Students
My hometown is a small, rural town in Northwest Florida. We are an area where everyone knows and supports each other. I teach 43 fourth grade students of different learning abilities.
This past year our area was devastated by Hurricane Michael and many of my students had their property damaged or lost their homes.
This natural disaster changed us forever!
I would love to fill my classroom with engaging opportunities that will promote their educational and social development. I love being a teacher!
My Project
Learning about our history is an important part of a student's education. My students need books that will go beyond the average textbook. The What Was? and I Survived Series are book series that students love to read!
These books will be engaging to my students and encourage their growth in knowledge of our great history!
As a Social Studies and Language Arts teacher, I will use these books in addition to our curriculum as guides for their inquiring minds. We will use these books as novel studies and also as small group read aloud books.
It's important for children (and adults) to know about their history, it's the roots of our lives!
