Diving Into Distance Learning

Help me give my students a great experience learning and interacting with me online. I am especially excited about using the Lenevo Chromebook. It's faster and has more features than the older version I currently have!

My Students

I have the sweetest, most inquisitive kindergarten students. One of the reasons I love teaching kindergarten is guiding them towards becoming readers! The relief and satisfaction I feel at the end of the year is unmatched. Kids enter school without writing letters and leave reading books! It's like a mama bird releasing her babies to fly.

Well, here comes COVID19 and my babies have to leave the nest early!

As one could imagine, we are both entering unknown territory. I have connected to this bunch via zoom and other platforms. They miss school and I miss them. I didn't anticipate not returning to gather items to teach my students. I am doing the best I can, but I'm disheartened because I want to do more, but I lack the necessary supplies and tools to give them the best distance learning experience possible!

My Project

The transition to distance learning has been challenging and inspiring at the same time. I will use these materials to create a more engaging experience with my kiddos. I will use the dry erase board to write a morning message as I did in class each day. I will use the chart paper to teach lessons and use as a reminder to students of prior learning. The Lenevo Chromebook will be a such a time saver. It has features that my outdated one doesn't.
