I teach twenty-five happy and excited-to-learn third graders, and all day long they have fun growing and thinking, and trying their best. Our school is a wonderful, small multicultural school located in Los Angeles. Approximately 30% of our students school qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, and everyone receives free breakfast.
We love to help students at our school feel pride in their different cultural backgrounds, so having books about different cultures that we can read to our students will be amazing!
Families in our town embrace how diverse our community is. They choose to live here so their children can attend our diverse, multicultural school. Your help bringing books that teach diversity is greatly appreciated!
My Project
We need more books to read to our students so our kids can gain new knowledge and respect for our multicultural community. Developing empathy for others, and learning about important events in the growth of different cultures in America are important life lessons for our students.
These books I have requested are an amazing group of read aloud books and novels that will be read to students throughout the school year.
What a great way to develop empathy for others and respect for people that have different cultural backgrounds than we do. These books will be used year after year, having a positive effect on our students and our school community.
