My Students
My pre-kindergarten classroom both in-person and remote is filled with students who are excited about learning. It is a classroom where diversity is celebrated and encouraged. Every student is special and valued in their own unique way. On a daily basis, they are growing personally, socially, and emotionally. Truly, they are our inspiration!
My class student population is diverse and is made up of multiple ethnicities, ENL (English as a New Language), and IEP (Individualized Education Program) students.
Acknowledging our diversity in school and our community is something we embrace, nurture, and celebrate!
My Project
My Pre-Kindergarteners are so excited to be in class. They are excited to meet new friends and interact with the staff. Now more than ever, in our current political climate, it is vital that we have classroom libraries that are filled with books that encourage and support students' discussions about a sense of self and diversity.
We are all different and that is what makes each one of us AWESOME!
These books will help students celebrate their individuality and embrace our diverse community and world. In addition, the books in this project will be the anchors that I can use towards helping my student internalize that being different is not bad but something that is truly beautiful.
