My Students
My students are young, eager learners! They work very hard to understand new concepts being taught, despite the lack of support and resources outside of school. My school is primarily filled with children of color. I work hard to teach inclusion within my classroom and school community.
My students are bright, kind, loving children who are inclusive to everyone they meet.
I am amazed to see the kindness that shines out of their young souls. They inspire me to be a better version of myself every day.
I absolutely love the children I teach as if they are my own. I put my heart into everything I do for them, and they reciprocate that love!
My Project
Kindness and acceptance are two things that children are born with, but in an ever-changing world, sometimes those lessons are lost. I want to work harder to create a safe space in my classroom for all students to feel accepted, welcomed, and loved. These books already have a home in my classroom, because I know how they will be utilized and cherished. I will use these materials to create lessons and give examples to my students of others who worked hard to make a difference. I will also use these books to implement more opinionated and creative writing within my classroom.
I believe these materials will help me achieve my goal of teaching my young learners about diversity, acceptance, and awareness of others.
By implementing these materials in my every-day teaching, students will feel more comfortable having discussions with each other and myself about diversity. They will learn more about their own cultures and how to be open-minded about others, embrace differences, and work together.
